Today I completed an oral history with this man, Jerry Schutz, who was born in 1964 and has lived in Moscow since he was four. He has led a truly amazing life. He’s survived a heart attack, kidney cancer, don’t ask don’t tell during his military service and a partner being murdered. He went back to school in his late forties to complete his nursing degree and now works as an RN. It was great getting a chance to hear his stories and I’m excited to start sharing all of these histories. It might be time to start transcribing.
